Courts are rented by the hour in every district, office teams and neighbourhood sides book them after work, and a match of five against five is easy to organise in a city this size. The MCC Jakarta tournament 2027 puts three grounds across the capital, with the Pitch Round opening on 9 April and a ladder that ends at the World Final in July.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Jakarta with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Futsal courts and the Jakarta weeknight
Ask a Jakartan where they play and the answer is a futsal court, usually indoors, often with a synthetic or vinyl floor and a roof against the rain. The game is built into school life, office life and kampung life alike, and many teams hold a regular weekly slot. Some play mini soccer on a slightly larger pitch, which sits closer to the MCC format.
The MCC format will feel familiar to a futsal side: nine players at most on the squad list, 15 minutes each way with the clock stopped for stoppages, and a 40-minute slot on the schedule. What changes is the structure around the match. Groups of four play three games each, the best two sides move into the playoffs, and a draw at that stage is settled on penalties.
North, East and South-West: the three Jakarta grounds
The three grounds follow the way the metropolitan area spreads. North Jakarta looks to Kelapa Gading, Tanjung Priok and the coast. East Jakarta covers Jatinegara, Cakung and the corridor toward Bekasi. South-West Jakarta reaches Kebayoran, Pondok Indah and across to Tangerang Selatan. Teams pick the ground nearest to their home or workplace, because each ground plays a full round of its own.
Reaching a ground in the evening means planning around traffic. The KRL commuter line, the MRT, TransJakarta buses and ride-hailing all serve the grounds' areas, and teams from the same district usually travel together. Pitch owners put their sites forward to MCC, which picks one venue per ground. A venue's name is added here only after its agreement is signed.
April and May in Jakarta, then the road on
Five weekends of football start on 9 April 2027. The group stage fills the weekends of 9, 16 and 23 April, knockout play opens on 30 April, and each ground settles its champion on 9 May. That is the tail of the wet season in Jakarta: warm and humid, around 30 degrees by day, with showers that tend to arrive in the afternoon.
Because Indonesia has no second MCC host city, the three Jakarta champions skip any city stage and play each other at the Country Championship, 28 to 30 May 2027. After that comes the continental stage, and the World Final takes place on 7 July 2027.
Jakarta tournaments and what MCC adds
Jakarta already has plenty of futsal cups, school competitions and company days, and the city follows Persija Jakarta closely. MCC is different in scale and in shape: one entry covers a full Pitch Round, a published format applies at every ground, and the winner takes $20,000 and a place in the national stage. Only amateur sides may enter, and each one names a Team President on its licence.

How does a team enter MCC in Jakarta?
Register on this site and pick one of Jakarta's three grounds: North Jakarta, East Jakarta, South-West Jakarta. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Jakarta?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Jakarta grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Jakarta?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
