Prague
Prague has played malá kopaná for as long as it has had housing estates with a concrete pitch in the courtyard. In 2027 the MCC Major Champions Cup comes to the city with a 5-a-side tournament: three Prague grounds, each crowning a Pitch Champion after a round that starts on 9 April and finishes on 9 May, and each champion carries the city's name into the Country Championship.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Prague with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.
North Prague
64 to 128 teams · $20,000 to its Pitch Champion
East Prague
64 to 128 teams · $20,000 to its Pitch Champion
South-West Prague

Malá kopaná and futsal in the Czech capital
Small-sided football here is a weekday habit. Office teams book an hour on an artificial pitch after work, school-friend squads hold the same Thursday slot for years, and the amateur leagues that run through winter in sports halls move outdoors as soon as the weather allows. Players use malá kopaná for the outdoor game and futsal for the hall version, and both fit the MCC format of five players, two 15-minute halves and a stop clock.
Prague also has deep club football. Sparta play at Letná and Slavia in Vršovice, and a lot of the city's amateur players grew up within walking distance of one of the two. That habit of local rivalry carries over to a tournament where the team across the group table might be from the next district.
North, East and South-West: how the three grounds sit
North Prague covers the Vltava bend and the districts around it: Holešovice, Libeň, Troja and the northern edge toward Prosek. East Prague draws from Žižkov, Karlín, Vysočany and the estates out toward Černý Most and Hostivař. South-West Prague takes in Smíchov, Radlice, Barrandov and the western suburbs out toward Zličín. Each ground holds up to 128 teams in a round of its own, so a team plays near home.
Getting around is simple. Three metro lines, the trams and the suburban trains reach almost every district, so most evening matches are one tram ride from a typical office. One venue will serve each ground, found through the MCC pitch owner programme, and the page names it after the agreement has been signed.
Spring in Prague and the route to the Country Championship
April in Prague is cool and changeable, usually between 5 and 15 degrees, with bright spells and the odd shower, and May is milder. Group matches run Friday to Sunday across three weekends starting 9, 16 and 23 April. Playoffs follow from 30 April, and the Prague grounds hold their finals on 9 May.
Czechia has no other host city, so Prague's three Pitch Champions skip any city stage and meet at the Country Championship, 28 to 30 May 2027. After that the schedule moves to the continental stage, with the World Final on 7 July 2027.
How a Prague tournament in 2027 differs from a one-day cup
The MCC format is fixed: groups of four playing three matches each, penalties for any level playoff tie, and $20,000 for every Pitch Champion. Entries are for amateur teams only. Each names a Team President, and misconduct can cost a team its licence with no refund.

Questions from Prague
How does a team enter MCC in Prague?
Register on this site and pick one of Prague's three grounds: North Prague, East Prague, South-West Prague. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Prague?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Prague grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Prague?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Prague team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Czechia title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Can an office or factory team from Prague enter?
Yes, provided every player is an amateur. A company squad registers like any other team, with five to nine players on one Team License, and one of them takes the role of Team President. Weekly hall league teams can enter on the same terms.
Which dates must a Prague team keep free?
Group matches fall on three weekends in April 2027, starting 9, 16 and 23 April, with three group matches per team. The top two in each group go to the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final is on 9 May.
Which Prague district should our team register under?
Choose the ground whose area you can reach on a weekday evening. North, East and South-West Prague each play a full, separate round of 64 to 128 teams, so the nearest one saves a cross-city trip.
What happens to a Prague winner after the Pitch Round?
The Country Championship, 28 to 30 May 2027, is the next stop. With Prague the only host city in Czechia, the three Prague champions go there directly, and the winner moves on to the continental stage.
