Host a tournament in Prague
MCC wants one venue for each of its three Prague grounds. Whoever signs on runs 64 to 128 amateur teams through the Pitch Round, from April into May 2027, with the format, fixtures, entries and the Pitch Champion's prize all coming from MCC. If you run artificial pitches, a sports hall with outdoor courts or a club ground in Prague, this page covers what that involves.
What a venue in Prague takes on
A hosting venue gives its pitches to the Pitch Round for the whole programme: three April weekends of group matches, playoffs from 30 April and the final on 9 May. Each match takes a 40-minute slot. Entries and fixtures come from MCC, and referees and crew are recruited separately through the join page.
Which areas of Prague the grounds cover
North Prague, East Prague and South-West Prague each need one venue inside their area. A site near Holešovice or Libeň fits the north, Žižkov or Hostivař the east, Smíchov or the Zličín side the south-west. On the Prague page, the live cards tell owners which grounds are taken and which remain open.
How a Prague pitch owner applies
A Prague venue comes forward through the MCC pitch owner application. From the applications MCC confirms one venue per ground, then signs an agreement. The venue is named on the Prague page from that point, and the live cards there mark which of the three grounds are still without one.
Questions from Prague venues
How many Prague grounds need a venue?
Three: North Prague, East Prague and South-West Prague. MCC confirms one venue for each, so a Prague operator applies for the ground whose area its site sits in. The live cards on the Prague page show which grounds are still open.
Can a sports club rather than a commercial operator apply?
Yes. Clubs, schools and municipal sports sites are as welcome as commercial operators, provided the site can host matches in 40-minute slots on the dates when the Pitch Round is played.
Who handles referees and prizes at a Prague ground?
MCC does. Teams register through the site, and the referee, assistants and fourth official are recruited via the join page. The $20,000 prize for the Pitch Champion comes from the published prize fund, so the venue pays nothing out.
