Host a tournament in Budapest
Three Budapest grounds, North Buda, East Pest and South-Budapest, each need a venue, and MCC is confirming one for each. The hosting venue runs 64 to 128 amateur teams through the Pitch Round, 9 April to 9 May 2027; MCC handles the format, the entries and the Pitch Champion prize. Operators of artificial pitches, sports centres and clubs in the city can apply here.
What hosting a Budapest ground means
Hosting means giving pitch time to three group weekends in April, then the playoffs from 30 April, closing with the ground final on 9 May. The match slot is 40 minutes. Fixtures and entries come from MCC, and officials are recruited through the join page, not through the venue.
Matching a venue to a Budapest area
A site in Óbuda or the Buda hills fits North Buda. Sites in Zugló, Kőbánya or Újpest suit East Pest, and those in Ferencváros, Kispest, Csepel or Soroksár suit South-Budapest. The live cards on the Budapest page show which grounds already have a confirmed venue and which are still open.
Applying as a Budapest pitch owner
Budapest pitch owners use the MCC pitch owner application. One venue per ground is picked, an agreement is signed, and from then on teams entering that ground find the venue named on the Budapest page, where the live cards show which grounds are taken.
Questions from Budapest venues
Can an indoor hall in Budapest host a ground?
Yes, an indoor hall can apply like any other pitch owner. The Pitch Round needs one venue per ground, with matches in 40-minute slots across the weekends of the programme, and MCC confirms the venue once an agreement is signed.
Which dates does a Budapest venue host?
Group matches are on three April weekends starting 9, 16 and 23 April 2027, playoffs run from 30 April and the final of each ground is on 9 May. The Country Championship on 28 to 30 May is held separately.
How many teams will play at a Budapest ground?
Between 64 and 128 teams, depending on entries and the capacity of the venue. Each ground crowns one Pitch Champion, who wins $20,000 and goes on to the Country Championship in late May 2027.
