Milan
In Lombardy the small-sided game is called calcio a 5, and Milan plays it in oratori, sports centres and company leagues all year round. The MCC Milan tournament in 2027 has three grounds, Monza to the north, Segrate to the east and Assago to the south, and gives each amateur 5-a-side team in the metropolitan area a place on a ladder that reaches the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Milan with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Calcio a 5 in a two-club city
Inter and AC Milan share San Siro and divide the city's loyalties, but on weekday evenings the football happens elsewhere: in sports centres on the outskirts, in parish halls and at the pitches that office leagues rent by the hour. Teams of friends, colleagues and former club-mates fill the calendar. Anyone who already plays a weekly game of calcio a 5 is the target entrant here.
Monza, Segrate and Assago in practice
Monza is the northern ground, a city in its own right with its royal park and a regular rail link to Milan. Segrate lies east of the city beside Linate airport and the Idroscalo, and the M4 line reaches that side of town. Assago is south of the centre, at the end of the M2 green line by the Mediolanum Forum.
Every ground holds 64 to 128 teams and decides its own champion. Teams choose by where their players live and work. Venues are confirmed one per ground through the MCC pitch owner programme, and each is named on this page once its agreement is signed.
Lombardy in April and May, and the Italian final
April and May in the Po plain are changeable: some days are bright and near twenty degrees, others bring showers and a cool wind. The Pitch Round runs from 9 April to 9 May 2027. Group games are on 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 April, and playoffs begin on 30 April.
Milan's Pitch Champions go on to the Italy Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, where they meet the winners from Rome, Naples, Turin and Bologna. The continental stage follows and the World Final is on 7 July 2027.
How MCC compares with Milan's own cups
Company cups and club festivals are common in Lombardy, and most are finished in a weekend. MCC sets a longer season with a published format, $20,000 for each Pitch Champion and a route to a national and then a world title. Entry is for amateur teams only, with a Team President named for each, and a zero-tolerance conduct policy applies throughout.

Questions from Milan
How does a team enter MCC in Milan?
Register on this site and pick one of Milan's three grounds: Monza/North, Segrate/East, Assago/South. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Milan?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Milan grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Milan?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Milan team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Italy title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Is calcio a 5 the same as the MCC format?
Both are played with five players a side, so a calcio a 5 squad already knows the shape of the game. MCC allows squads of up to nine, and matches are two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock.
Which Milan ground is best for a team in the city centre?
Assago is straightforward from the centre by the M2 line, and Segrate is reachable by the M4. Monza suits teams from the northern suburbs and Brianza. Pick whichever your players can reach after work.
Can a team from Bergamo, Pavia or Como join the Milan tournament?
Teams are free to choose a ground they can reach, and the three Milan grounds cover the metropolitan area and its edges. Which ground a team enters is its own decision within the host city.
Do we need an oratorio or a federation affiliation to enter?
No. The requirement is that the team is made up of amateurs, buys one Team License and names a Team President. Whether you also play in a local league or an oratorio competition makes no difference.
