Curitiba
Curitiba is a futsal city before it is anything else. Courts sit behind schools, churches and neighbourhood clubs, and a Thursday night game with friends is a fixed part of the week. The MCC Curitiba tournament turns that habit into a season: three grounds across the city, a Pitch Round from 9 April to 9 May 2027, and a route through the Brazil Country Championship to the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Curitiba with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Futsal, society and the Curitiba week
Brazilians learn small-sided football on futsal courts, and Curitiba is no exception. Alongside the hard courts there are synthetic grass fields rented by the hour, where the local game is called society and is played in teams of fewer players than a full side. Office groups, university teams and old school friends book the same slots every week. Any of those squads can enter as a 5-a-side team.
MCC's format is five players a side. Squads can carry up to nine, each match gets a 40-minute slot, and it is played as two halves of 15 minutes with the clock stopped for stoppages. The ball and the pace will feel familiar to anyone who grew up on futsal.
North, East and South Zone across Curitiba
The North Zone ground is meant for teams in areas such as Santa Felicidade, Bacacheri and Cabral. The East Zone ground serves Cajuru, Uberaba and the neighbourhoods running out towards São José dos Pinhais. The South Zone ground covers Pinheirinho, Xaxim, Portão and the Sítio Cercado side of the city. Each zone runs its own round with 64 to 128 teams, so a squad can enter the zone where its players live.
Getting there usually means the bus network, including the express lines on dedicated lanes that cross the city. A squad can weigh the zones by the route it already takes across Curitiba, since many matches fall in the evening and at weekends.
Autumn in Curitiba and the road to the Brazil final
April and May bring autumn to the city: cool mornings, mild afternoons and the occasional wet spell. Group football fills three weekends, beginning 9 to 11 April and finishing 23 to 25 April, with a middle weekend on 16 to 18. Playoffs follow from 30 April, and 9 May is the day of each zone's final.
Curitiba's three Pitch Champions travel on to the Country Championship for Brazil (28 to 30 May 2027), a weekend shared with the winners from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre. The continental stage comes next, then the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Curitiba's clubs and a different kind of tournament
Coritiba and Athletico Paranaense give the city a football identity that squads carry onto the court, and plenty of teams here take their colours from one side or the other. Neither club has any link with MCC. What the tournament adds is a fixed calendar, a published format and a $20,000 prize for each Pitch Champion, open to amateur teams with a named Team President.

Questions from Curitiba
How does a team enter MCC in Curitiba?
Register on this site and pick one of Curitiba's three grounds: North Zone, East Zone, South Zone. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Curitiba?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Curitiba grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Curitiba?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Curitiba team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Brazil title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Can a futsal team from Curitiba enter the MCC tournament?
Yes. Teams that usually play futsal, society or indoor football are welcome, provided they are amateur and field between five and nine players. The format is five players a side, so a futsal squad needs no change to its line-up.
Which zone should a team from Cajuru or Boqueirão choose?
Choose the zone nearest to where most of your squad lives or works. Each zone runs a full round on its own, with its own groups and playoffs. The ground cards on this page show which areas already have a venue.
Are the Curitiba venues already confirmed?
Not necessarily. This page names a venue only after its agreement with MCC is signed, and the cards above show which of the three zones has one. A zone with no card yet is open to Curitiba pitch owners.
Do we need an entry as a club or a company?
No. A team enters with a Team License and names a Team President on the entry. Many entries will be friends, workplaces or neighbourhood sides, and a license covers one team for one year at the 1,200 dollar price until 1 March 2027.
