Belo Horizonte
Belo Horizonte is a city of hills, botecos and Saturday football, where Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro share the loyalties of most families. Futsal courts and society pitches are part of daily life across the capital of Minas Gerais and its neighbouring towns. MCC brings a Belo Horizonte tournament in 2027, with three grounds, a Pitch Round from 9 April and a path to the World Final.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Belo Horizonte with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Futsal and society in Minas Gerais
Mineiros take their football seriously and their Sunday afternoons slowly. Futsal is taught in schools, society pitches are rented by groups of friends, and bairro leagues run for months. A team that has booked the same court every week for years is exactly the kind of side MCC expects to enter.
The rules are short. Teams field five, list up to nine, and play two 15-minute halves on a stop clock within a 40-minute slot. Four teams form a group with three matches each, two advance, and penalties settle any playoff that finishes level.
North Metro, East Metro and Contagem
The three Belo Horizonte grounds treat the region as one metropolitan area rather than the municipality alone. North Metro takes in the northern districts such as Venda Nova. East Metro covers the east side of the city, including Santa Tereza and the districts towards Sabará. Contagem/West serves Contagem and the industrial western belt.
The metro has one line and most people rely on buses and cars, so a ground close to home matters more here than anywhere. Each ground runs a complete round, with one venue confirmed per ground through the pitch owner programme and named on this page once its agreement is signed.
Weather, dates and the Brazilian championship
At about 850 metres above sea level, Belo Horizonte sees mild days and cool evenings in April and May, as the dry season sets in. The Pitch Round begins on 9 April 2027 with a group weekend, repeated on 16 April and 23 April. Playoffs start on 30 April, and every ground has its final on 9 May.
Champions of the Belo Horizonte grounds join the Brazil Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, up against winners from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Curitiba. A continental stage comes after that, and the World Final falls on 7 July 2027.
What sets MCC apart from a Saturday cup
Bairro and company cups in Belo Horizonte tend to wrap up in a single weekend. MCC takes about a month per ground, announces its format and its $20,000 champion's prize beforehand, and sends the winner on beyond Minas Gerais. Amateurs only; each squad has a named Team President, and the conduct policy rules out violence.

Questions from Belo Horizonte
How does a team enter MCC in Belo Horizonte?
Register on this site and pick one of Belo Horizonte's three grounds: North Metro, East Metro, Contagem/West. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Belo Horizonte?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Belo Horizonte grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Belo Horizonte?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Belo Horizonte team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Brazil title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Do teams from Contagem or Betim play in Belo Horizonte?
Yes. The Contagem/West ground is placed for the western belt, and a team from Contagem, Betim or other nearby towns can choose whichever of the three grounds is easiest to reach.
Is altitude a factor for visiting teams?
Only slightly. Belo Horizonte is around 850 metres up, and April and May days are mild. It matters less than for a team arriving from a very different climate, and local sides will not notice it.
Can our society team enter with seven regular players?
Yes. Squads can list up to nine, so seven regulars is comfortable. Substitutes rotate through the match, which is useful if your usual game is played on a larger pitch with more players.
Does any Belo Horizonte club back the tournament?
No. MCC is independent of Atlético Mineiro, Cruzeiro and every other professional club. Teams are amateur sides, and the Pitch Round is played at the venue confirmed for each ground.
