Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires plays fútbol 5 on rented canchas every night of the week, in the capital and across the ring of towns around it. The MCC Buenos Aires tournament gives those teams a proper season: three Metro grounds, group matches from 9 April 2027, and an Argentine championship that sends its winners towards the World Final on 7 July 2027. Squads of up to nine, two 15-minute halves, penalties if a playoff is level.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Buenos Aires with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Fútbol 5 on the canchas of Buenos Aires
Ask a porteño where they play and the answer is a cancha: a fenced synthetic pitch under lights, booked by the hour, with a parrilla nearby. Friends, workmates and neighbourhood sides keep the same slot for years. MCC's 5-a-side tournament in Buenos Aires is open to teams like those, as long as they are amateur.
The format mirrors how the game is played on those pitches. Five play against five, a squad can list nine, and each match fits a 40-minute slot made of two 15-minute halves with the clock stopped when play stops. Fútbol 5 players need no explanation of the rules, only a team entry and a Team President.
North, West and South Metro grounds
The North Metro ground suits teams from the city's northern barrios and the Zona Norte towns up the coast, such as Vicente López and San Isidro. West Metro covers Flores, Liniers, Ramos Mejía, Morón and the line of towns along the Sarmiento railway. South Metro serves Avellaneda, Lanús, Quilmes and Lomas de Zamora. Each ground runs its own round of 64 to 128 teams.
Most players arrive by colectivo, the subte or the suburban trains. A team can look for the ground that is one connection away from its usual cancha. Travel time after work often shapes a squad's choice more than distance on a map does.
April and May: the Argentine season and the road out
April and May are autumn in Buenos Aires, with mild days and cool evenings. Kickoff for the Pitch Round is 9 April 2027. Groups are played over three weekends, 9 to 11 April first and 23 to 25 April last, the playoffs open on 30 April and the finals are held on 9 May.
The Buenos Aires Pitch Champions then travel to the Argentine Country Championship (28 to 30 May 2027), where Cordoba and Rosario send their winners too. The continental stage follows, and then the World Final on 7 July 2027. Cordoba and Rosario are the other two Argentine host cities.
A city of Boca, River and the potrero
Boca Juniors, River Plate, Racing, Independiente and San Lorenzo shape most Saturday conversations in Buenos Aires, and the shirts show up on every cancha. MCC has no connection with any of them. The tournament is for amateurs: a fixed prize of $20,000 for each ground's champion, a published calendar and a conduct policy with no exceptions.

Questions from Buenos Aires
How does a team enter MCC in Buenos Aires?
Register on this site and pick one of Buenos Aires's three grounds: North Metro, West Metro, South Metro. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Buenos Aires?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Buenos Aires grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Buenos Aires?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Buenos Aires team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Argentina title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Is fútbol 5 the same as the 5-a-side format MCC uses?
Yes. MCC plays five a side on small pitches, with squads of up to nine players, two halves of 15 minutes and a stop clock. A team that plays fútbol 5 weekly already knows the format.
Can a team from the Gran Buenos Aires suburbs enter?
Yes. The three grounds are metropolitan areas, so a team from Quilmes, Morón or San Isidro enters the ground nearest to it. There is no requirement to live inside the city limits.
Can friends from different clubs form one team?
Yes, provided every player is an amateur. A team is registered under one Team License and one named Team President, and its players can come from different barrios, offices or leagues.
What happens after a Buenos Aires team wins its ground?
The Pitch Champion wins $20,000 and goes straight to the Argentine Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, alongside the champions from Cordoba and Rosario. After that come the continental stage and the World Final on 7 July 2027.
