Cordoba
Cordoba has a football identity of its own, split between Talleres and Belgrano and argued over in every barrio. The same arguments carry onto the fútbol 5 canchas where friends and work teams play after dark. The MCC Cordoba tournament offers those teams three grounds, a Pitch Round opening on 9 April 2027 and a path through the Argentine championship towards the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Cordoba with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Fútbol 5 in a university city
Cordoba is a student city, and the small-sided game here lives in faculty teams, residence leagues and neighbourhood canchas around Nueva Cordoba and Alberdi. Weekday evenings are busy, and many groups of friends have played together since school. A 5-a-side team from any of those circles can enter the MCC tournament as it stands, with a squad of up to nine players.
The format is quick: a group of four, three matches of two 15-minute halves each, and playoffs for the top two teams. A level playoff tie goes to penalties at every stage, a rule most fútbol 5 players have met at the end of a cup night.
North, East and South-West Zone across Cordoba
North Zone suits teams from Cerro de las Rosas, Villa Allende and the barrios running north along the Sierras road. East Zone covers Alta Cordoba and the neighbourhoods towards the eastern ring. South-West Zone covers Alto Alberdi, Villa El Libertador and the area along the road to Alta Gracia. Each zone plays its own round with 64 to 128 teams.
Local buses and the ring roads are the practical ways to get around, so many squads will pick the zone they can reach on a weekday after work. The cards on this page mark which zones already have an announced venue.
Cordoba in autumn and the Argentine championship
April and May are autumn in Cordoba, with warm afternoons and cooler nights. Group football is played across three April weekends, the first from 9 to 11 April, then comes the playoff stage from 30 April, and each zone's final is on 9 May.
The three Cordoba Pitch Champions then join the Argentine Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, where Buenos Aires and Rosario also send their winners. The continental stage is the next step, and the World Final falls on 7 July 2027.
Beyond the Kempes: a tournament for amateurs
The Mario Alberto Kempes stadium is where the city watches its professional sides. MCC has no link with it or with any club. The tournament sits at the other end of the game: amateur players, a Team President on every entry, and a Pitch Champion prize of $20,000 for the team that wins each zone.

Questions from Cordoba
How does a team enter MCC in Cordoba?
Register on this site and pick one of Cordoba's three grounds: North Zone, East Zone, South-West Zone. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Cordoba?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Cordoba grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Cordoba?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Cordoba team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Argentina title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Do teams from outside the city of Cordoba qualify?
Yes. The three zones take in the wider metropolitan area, so a team from Villa Allende or a town on the Alta Gracia road enters the zone closest to it. All you need is an amateur squad of five to nine players.
Can a university or faculty team enter?
Yes, as long as every player is an amateur. The team is registered under one Team License with a named Team President, who is the contact for the squad throughout the season.
How do I know which zone has a venue yet?
Look at the three zone cards on this page. A venue appears there once its agreement is signed through the MCC pitch owner programme. A zone without one is still open to Cordoba pitch owners.
Is there a deadline to enter at the lower price?
Yes. The one-year Team License is 1,200 dollars until 1 March 2027 and 2,500 after that date. A three-year license costs 5,000 dollars, and the Pitch Round opens on 9 April.
