Atlanta is a soccer city with a long reach. Atlanta United play downtown, recreational leagues run across the suburbs of Gwinnett and Cobb, and communities from Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean keep futsal and fútbol 5 games going every weekend. The MCC Atlanta tournament gives that scene a 5-a-side competition in 2027, with three metro grounds and a route to the World Final on 7 July.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Atlanta with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Futsal, fútbol 5 and league soccer across the metro
Small-sided games in Atlanta are spread across the region rather than gathered in one district. Rec leagues in Roswell and Marietta, workplace teams near Perimeter Center and weekend pickup groups in Decatur and Stone Mountain all play versions of the five-a-side game. Immigrant communities in Gwinnett and along the Buford Highway corridor have organized fútbol 5 and futsal leagues for years.
Any of those squads can enter. MCC asks only that the team is amateur, has up to nine players on its roster and names a Team President on the entry. Games are two 15-minute halves, and a team formed only for MCC is as welcome as an established side.
North, East and South Metro grounds and how to reach them
North Metro covers Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Marietta and the Perimeter, served by GA-400, I-75 and the north MARTA stations. East Metro takes in Decatur, Stone Mountain, Lawrenceville and the Gwinnett side, reached along I-85, I-20 and the MARTA Blue Line. South Metro runs through College Park, Hapeville, Fayetteville and Peachtree City, near the airport and the I-85 and I-75 south corridors.
Each ground holds 64 to 128 teams, and the venue for each is announced here once its agreement is signed; the cards above show which grounds already have one. Teams enter the ground nearest their home field, which keeps a weeknight trip short.
Atlanta in April and May, then the national stage
April in Atlanta is warm and green, with pollen in the air and the odd thunderstorm. Group play takes place over three weekends beginning 9, 16 and 23 April, playoffs start on 30 April and every ground crowns its champion on 9 May.
Atlanta's three Pitch Champions advance to the United States Country Championship, 28 to 30 May 2027. Waiting there are the winners from Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC Metro and New York Metro in the north-east, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth in the south, and Chicago and Los Angeles Metro.
What the MCC ladder offers an Atlanta team
MCC is a five-week round with a fixed format, $20,000 for each Pitch Champion and a ladder that reaches the Country Championship and beyond. Each team enters under one Team License, and serious breaches of the zero-tolerance conduct policy cost a team its licence with no refund. Only amateur teams enter, so a squad built from a rec league or an office fits.

How does a team enter MCC in Atlanta?
Register on this site and pick one of Atlanta's three grounds: North Metro, East Metro, South Metro. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Atlanta?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Atlanta grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Atlanta?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.

Does a Gwinnett or Cobb County team enter the Atlanta ground nearest it?
Yes, that is the idea. Gwinnett teams will usually find East Metro closest, Cobb teams North Metro, and teams south of the airport South Metro. Each ground runs a full round, so nobody has to cross the perimeter to compete.
Can a church or community futsal team in Atlanta enter?
Yes, as long as the team is amateur, with nine players at most and a named Team President. Futsal and fútbol 5 players already know the small-sided pace, which suits the 15-minute halves on a stop clock.
How hot does it get during the Atlanta Pitch Round?
April and early May are usually mild to warm, with comfortable evenings and the occasional storm. The hot Georgia summer arrives after the Pitch Round, so heat is rarely a concern for this stage of the tournament.
Is MCC connected to Atlanta United or a local league?
No. MCC is an independent amateur tournament, and no professional club or local league is part of it. Atlanta teams enter on their own through a Team License, with a Team President named on the entry.
