Toronto
Toronto plays its small-sided football indoors for half the year, in domed fields and warehouse turf halls that fill every night from October to April. The MCC Toronto tournament moves that habit into a proper season: three grounds across the Greater Toronto Area, a Pitch Round that opens on 9 April 2027, and a path from the city to the Country Championship and the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Toronto with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Indoor soccer is how Toronto plays
Ask a Toronto player where they play on a Wednesday and the answer is usually a turf hall in an industrial park. Indoor soccer leagues run in nearly every part of the GTA, and the word soccer is the ordinary one here, with 5-a-side and indoor football used for the same game. Workplace sides, church groups, university teams and old school friends all keep a standing weekly slot.
The city's football crowd is as mixed as its population, and club loyalties arrive from Portugal, Italy, Jamaica, Brazil, Ghana and a long list of other places. Toronto FC plays at BMO Field in the summer, but most of the playing is local and informal, which is the gap a structured tournament can fill.
York, Mississauga and Scarborough grounds
The three Toronto grounds follow the way the region is laid out. York/North covers the corridor along Yonge Street and Highway 404 and 407 into Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill. Mississauga/West takes in Etobicoke, Mississauga and Brampton along the Gardiner and Highway 401. Scarborough/East reaches Scarborough, Pickering and Ajax, with GO Transit and the TTC feeding most routes.
Between 64 and 128 teams play at each ground, and MCC confirms one venue for it through the pitch owner programme. The venue is named here after it signs its agreement, so check the cards above to see which grounds are settled.
April and May, then the Canadian road
April in Toronto is cool and changeable, with daytime highs near 10 degrees and the odd cold rain, while May is noticeably warmer. The three group rounds take place on 9 to 11 April, 16 to 18 April and 23 to 25 April. Playoffs begin on 30 April and each ground closes with a final on 9 May.
Each Toronto Pitch Champion is sent to the Canada Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, where Montreal and Vancouver bring their own winners. After that the tournament moves to the continental stage, and the World Final is on 7 July 2027. The prize list starts at $20,000 for a Pitch Champion and tops out at $5,000,000.
Leagues, cups and what MCC adds in Toronto
A Toronto team can play in a league all winter and still never meet a side from across the region. MCC seats teams from different leagues in groups of four, with three group matches each, then playoffs where a level tie goes to penalties. Only amateurs may enter, every entry names a Team President, and conduct rules allow no second chances.

Questions from Toronto
How does a team enter MCC in Toronto?
Register on this site and pick one of Toronto's three grounds: York/North, Mississauga/West, Scarborough/East. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Toronto?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Toronto grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Toronto?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Toronto team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Canada title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Does an indoor soccer team qualify for the Toronto tournament?
Yes. An amateur team of up to nine players can hold a Team License, whether it plays in an indoor league at present or has never entered anything. Matches are 5-a-side with two 15-minute halves, which indoor teams will know.
Where will the Toronto matches be played?
At the venue confirmed for each ground. MCC names one venue per ground through the pitch owner programme once its agreement is signed, and the name appears on this page. The Pitch Round runs from 9 April to 9 May 2027 across all three grounds.
Which Toronto ground suits a team from Brampton or Pickering?
Brampton sits in the Mississauga/West ground and Pickering in Scarborough/East. Each ground plays its own complete round and crowns its own Pitch Champion, so a team picks the ground whose area it knows best and is easiest to reach.
What happens if our Toronto team wins its ground?
It collects the $20,000 Pitch Champion prize and goes directly to the Canada Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027. A winner there advances to the continental stage and, with further wins, to the World Final on 7 July 2027.
