Stockholm
Stockholm has three MCC grounds for the 2027 Pitch Round: North Metro, West Metro and South Metro, each taking 64 to 128 amateur teams for 5-a-side football between 9 April and 9 May. Sweden has no other host city, so the three Stockholm winners decide who carries the country's place forward after the Swedish Country Championship in late May.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Stockholm with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

A football city with a long indoor season
Stockholm is a three-club city. AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby fill the stands, and below them a dense web of district clubs runs boys, girls and veteran teams. Winters are dark and cold, so futsal and indoor halls keep squads sharp. Hall teams that train through winter are the squads MCC has in mind.
MCC keeps the game compact. A squad holds nine at most, and each match is 15 minutes either side of the break with the clock stopped whenever play is, all within a 40-minute slot. Penalties decide any playoff that is level, so a knockout evening always ends with a winner.
How the Metro grounds fit the tunnelbana map
The three grounds are named after the Metro because that is how most of Stockholm travels. North Metro covers the northern lines through Solna, Sundbyberg and Kista. West Metro takes in Bromma, Kungsholmen and the western green line suburbs. South Metro serves Södermalm, Hammarbyhöjden and the southern towns toward Farsta and Skärholmen.
MCC confirms one venue for each ground through its pitch owner programme and announces the name here when the agreement is signed. The cards higher up show which of the three Metro grounds in Stockholm have a venue now and which are still open to local pitch owners.
Stockholm from April to the Swedish final
April in Stockholm is cool, roughly 5 to 12 degrees, with the evenings lengthening fast. Groups play across three April weekends in 2027, the 9th, 16th and 23rd with the weekend around each. Knockouts open on 30 April, and each ground stages its last match on 9 May.
Sweden's only host city is Stockholm, so the Swedish Country Championship, 28 to 30 May 2027, is a meeting of its own three ground winners. The winner takes Sweden's place in the continental stage. The World Final is on 7 July 2027, and prizes run from $20,000 to $5,000,000.
Five weeks and a route to the world final
At ground level MCC lasts five weeks, 9 April to 9 May 2027, with its rules in public, $20,000 for the winner of every ground and a road to a world final. Only amateur teams enter, each with a named Team President, and misconduct can mean licence revocation with no refund.

Questions from Stockholm
How does a team enter MCC in Stockholm?
Register on this site and pick one of Stockholm's three grounds: North Metro, West Metro, South Metro. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Stockholm?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Stockholm grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Stockholm?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Stockholm team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Sweden title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Is it fine to enter a team that plays futsal in winter?
Yes. A futsal or hall team is a natural fit, because the game is five a side. Amateur status and a squad of nine or fewer are what to check before registering.
Which ground is best for a team from Södermalm?
South Metro is drawn around the southern part of the city, including Södermalm. Pick the ground your players can reach most easily by tunnelbana or commuter train, since every ground plays its own full round.
What is April like in Stockholm for the group matches?
April is cool, often below 10 degrees at first, and the evenings lengthen quickly through the month. Group weekends fall on 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 April 2027, and the knockouts begin on 30 April.
What does a Stockholm team win by finishing first?
First place on a ground is worth $20,000 and a direct place at the Swedish Country Championship, held 28 to 30 May 2027. The World Final follows on 7 July 2027.
