Copenhagen
Copenhagen hosts three MCC grounds in 2027, named North Metro, West Metro and Amager/South after the parts of the city they serve. Each one gathers 64 to 128 amateur teams for a 5-a-side Pitch Round between 9 April and 9 May. Denmark has no other host city, so the three Copenhagen champions carry the whole country's place into the continental stage.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Copenhagen with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Futsal, hall football and club football in the capital
Danish football runs on clubs, and Copenhagen has a great many of them, from big names such as FC København to neighbourhood sides in Nørrebro, Vesterbro and Valby. Winter means hall football, and futsal has a loyal following. Squads that already play five against five each week are the ones MCC has in mind.
Each match is easy to follow. Nine players at most per squad, a clock that stops when play does, and a 40-minute slot split into two 15-minute halves. Four teams share a group and play three games; two advance, and any knockout tie still level afterwards goes to penalties.
Reaching North Metro, West Metro and Amager/South
The ground names follow the Metro, and in Copenhagen that is how many people move around, along with bikes. North Metro suits players from Nørrebro, Østerbro and the northern suburbs. West Metro serves Vanløse, Frederiksberg and the western districts. Amager/South is for Islands Brygge, Sundby and Ørestad on the island of Amager, reached by the M1 and M2 lines.
Each ground gets a single venue, confirmed by MCC through its pitch owner programme. Once an agreement is signed the site appears here, and the cards above show which of the three Copenhagen grounds have a venue and which are still waiting for a Danish pitch owner.
April and May in Copenhagen, then the Danish final
April evenings run of around 8 to 14 degrees, fresh wind off the Sound and long light by May. Three April weekends carry the group games (the 9th, 16th and 23rd, Friday to Sunday, 2027). Knockouts open on 30 April, and each ground closes its round with a final on 9 May.
Since Copenhagen is Denmark's only host city, its three ground winners face each other at the Country Championship, held 28 to 30 May, and the national winner moves up a level to the continental stage. The World Final is on 7 July 2027, and prizes across the competition run from $20,000 to $5,000,000.
Five weeks, one prize ladder
The Copenhagen grounds play from 9 April to 9 May 2027, each crowning a Pitch Champion who takes $20,000 and a place in the Country Championship. The route to a world final is published, and entry is for amateur teams only. Each team names a Team President, and a zero-tolerance conduct policy applies to all.

Questions from Copenhagen
How does a team enter MCC in Copenhagen?
Register on this site and pick one of Copenhagen's three grounds: North Metro, West Metro, Amager/South. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Copenhagen?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Copenhagen grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Copenhagen?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Copenhagen team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Denmark title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Can a Copenhagen club side enter more than one team?
Each team needs its own Team License, so a club that wants two squads registers two teams. A one-year license costs USD 1,200 if bought before 1 March 2027 and 2,500 afterwards; a three-year license is 5,000.
Which ground is closest to Frederiksberg?
West Metro is the ground drawn around the western districts, which include Frederiksberg and Vanløse. Check the cards on this page for the venue once it is announced, and weigh the travel time for your nine players.
Is the Amager/South ground only for people living on Amager?
No. It is the ground in the south of the city, and its venue is likely to sit on or near Amager. Any registered amateur team can register for it, wherever the squad lives.
What if my team wins in Copenhagen but we also play indoors in winter?
That is fine. The Pitch Round is in April and May 2027, so a winter hall or futsal league does not clash. A Pitch Champion simply takes its place at the Country Championship from 28 to 30 May.
