Host a tournament in Barcelona

MCC confirms one venue for each of its three Barcelona grounds, Badalone/North-East, L'Hospitalet/West and Castelldefels/South. Each venue stages a complete futbol sala style competition of up to 128 amateur teams in 2027, and MCC supplies the rules, schedule, entries and prizes. Pavello managers, club presidents and pitch operators in the Barcelona area can read what the role involves.

What hosting a Barcelona ground means

Pitch time is what a Barcelona venue provides: matches in 40-minute slots across three April group weekends, the playoffs from 30 April and the closing final on 9 May. A ground takes 64 to 128 teams, and indoor and outdoor sites both fit the programme.

Which area each ground serves

Badalone/North-East is the ground for the north-east, including Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Montgat. L'Hospitalet/West is for the west, covering Cornella, Esplugues and the Sants side of the city. Castelldefels/South serves the south, with Gava, Viladecans and the Delta. A venue belongs to the ground that covers its address; the live cards say which of the three already has one.

Applying as a pitch owner

Applications come through the pitch owner programme. Only one venue is confirmed for each Barcelona ground, with a signed agreement, and the Barcelona page then announces it. Referees and crew come from the MCC join page, so the venue never appoints them.

Questions from Barcelona venue owners

Can a club-run pavello in Barcelona host a ground?

Yes. Clubs, councils and private operators can all take part through the pitch owner programme. A single venue is confirmed for each ground and announced on the Barcelona page after signing.

Does the venue have to be in Barcelona city?

No. All three grounds are in neighbouring towns, and a site anywhere in the metropolitan area can apply. MCC assigns it to the ground that serves its area, and teams then choose by distance.

Who supplies the teams and officials for a Barcelona ground?

Teams enter MCC on their own, each with a Team License, and pick a ground. Officials and crew are recruited through the join page. A venue only hosts, so there is no team list or referee roster for it to assemble.
