Host a tournament in Lyon
Villeurbanne/East, West Lyon and Venissieux/South, MCC's three Lyon grounds, each need a venue. The venue runs one full 5-a-side ground from 9 April to 9 May 2027, and MCC supplies format, entries, fixtures and prize fund. Lyon sports centres and pitch operators will find here what hosting involves.
What hosting a Lyon ground involves
The venue gives pitch hours over three group weekends and the playoff dates through to the 9 May final. Slots are 40 minutes, and a Lyon ground holds 64 to 128 teams. MCC handles entries, fixtures and officials, and the venue hosts the matches on the fixture dates.
How the Lyon grounds divide the metropolis
Villeurbanne/East covers Villeurbanne, Bron and the east. West Lyon covers Vaise, Ecully and Tassin-la-Demi-Lune. Venissieux/South covers Venissieux, Saint-Fons and the southern districts. A venue is confirmed for the ground its site lies in, and teams from those communes register for that ground.
How a Lyon venue applies
Pitch owners apply to the programme, and a single venue is confirmed for each ground once an agreement is signed. The Lyon page then names that venue to teams registering for the ground, and grounds still without one show as open on the live cards.
Questions from Lyon venues
Can a foot à 5 centre in Decines or Bron apply?
Yes. Any pitch owner can apply, wherever the site is. A centre in the east of the metropolis falls under Villeurbanne/East, and one venue is confirmed per ground once an agreement is signed.
Which dates does a Lyon venue host matches on?
Group matches fall on 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 April 2027, playoffs start on 30 April and each ground's final is on 9 May. Matches run in 40-minute slots, and a ground holds 64 to 128 teams.
Who handles entries and officials for Lyon?
MCC does. Teams register on this site, and referees, assistants, fourth officials and crew join through the join page. Teams never appoint officials. A Lyon venue hosts the matches on the fixture dates.
