Kuwait City Metro
Kuwait City and its suburbs fill their evenings with football. Futsal courts in Salmiya and fenced pitches in Hawalli sit beside school grounds in Jahra and Ahmadi. For the MCC Kuwait City Metro tournament in 2027, those teams get three grounds, a Pitch Round that starts on 9 April and ends on 9 May, and a seat at the Kuwait Country Championship.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Kuwait City Metro with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Evening futsal across Kuwait's metro area
Kuwait has a long football tradition, with clubs such as Al Arabi, Qadsia and Kuwait SC well known across the Gulf. Beneath them sits a large amateur scene of futsal and mini football in every governorate, played in halls, on rooftops and on fenced pitches once the day cools.
MCC's 5-a-side suits that rhythm. A squad holds up to nine players, and a match fills a 40-minute slot made of two 15-minute halves with the clock stopped for dead balls. A team that already plays a regular weekday game on a small pitch will find the format familiar.
Jahra/North-West, Central Metro and Ahmadi/South
The three grounds cover the metro area from the north-west to the south. Jahra/North-West serves the western suburbs and the roads toward Sulaibiya. Central Metro takes in Kuwait City itself with Salmiya, Hawalli and the districts between the ring roads. Ahmadi/South serves the southern governorates including Fahaheel and Mangaf.
Most players drive, and the ring roads link the three areas. Each ground holds 64 to 128 teams, and its venue is shown here after the agreement is signed. Distances are short by Gulf standards, so most squads can choose the ground nearest home and keep the journey easy on a weekday evening.
April and May weather, then the Country Championship
April and May are hot and dry in Kuwait, and the heat builds into May, so evening play is the norm. Three weekends of group games (9th to 11th, 16th to 18th, 23rd to 25th April) lead to playoffs from 30 April, with each ground's final falling on 9 May 2027.
Kuwait has only one host city, so its three Pitch Champions meet at the Kuwait Country Championship on 28 to 30 May. Each earns $20,000 for winning a ground, and the continental stage and the World Final on 7 July 2027 follow.
One host city for the whole country
With no other Kuwaiti host city, a team here does not compete against Riyadh or Doha for a local place. The three Kuwait grounds feed one national championship, so every Pitch Champion has a clear route forward. The Kuwait Country Championship is therefore the first meeting of all three Pitch Champions, and it is the step that decides who goes to the continental stage.
Each team holds one Team License and a named Team President, and referees are recruited by MCC rather than chosen by clubs. Penalties settle level playoff ties, and a zero-tolerance conduct policy covers every player, with licence revocation and no refund as the end of the line.

Questions from Kuwait City Metro
How does a team enter MCC in Kuwait City Metro?
Register on this site and pick one of Kuwait City Metro's three grounds: Jahra/North-West, Central Metro, Ahmadi/South. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Kuwait City Metro?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Kuwait City Metro grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Kuwait City Metro?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Kuwait City Metro team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Kuwait title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Which Kuwait ground suits a team from Salmiya or Hawalli?
Central Metro is the closest match, as it covers Kuwait City and the districts between the ring roads. You pick the ground when you enter, so choose by where most of your squad can arrive on a weekday evening.
Do Kuwaiti teams face Saudi or Qatari teams in the Pitch Round?
No. Each ground crowns its own Pitch Champion, and Kuwait's three champions meet at the Country Championship. Teams from other countries are met only at later stages, on the way to the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Can a Kuwait team from Fahaheel enter the Ahmadi/South ground?
Yes. Ahmadi/South covers the southern districts including Fahaheel, so a team there can enter that ground. The choice is made at registration, and the ground you pick is the one that crowns your Pitch Champion.
Who is the Team President on a Kuwait City squad?
Each team names one Team President on its entry, next to its Team License. MCC treats that person as answerable for the squad, so choose someone who can be reached from the first group match on 9 April through to the end of the Pitch Round.
