Muscat
Muscat is a long, low city between the mountains and the Gulf of Oman, and its football is played on whatever flat ground and lit court is nearby. The MCC Muscat tournament in 2027 sets up three grounds, runs a Pitch Round from 9 April to 9 May and sends its Pitch Champions to the Oman Country Championship.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Muscat with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Small-sided football between the mountains and the sea
Oman's capital has a steady amateur scene. Neighbourhood teams play futsal and mini football on lit courts in Seeb, Bawshar and Al Khuwair, while company and university groups book pitches for the evening. Oman Club and Al-Seeb are among the better known local names.
MCC's 5-a-side format, squads of up to nine and halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock, will suit teams that already play on a short pitch. A level playoff tie goes to penalties, so every playoff match produces a winner.
Seeb/West, Bawshar/Central and Al Amerat/East
The Muscat grounds follow the line of the city along the coast and the highway. Seeb/West covers the area near the airport and toward Barka. Bawshar/Central takes in Bawshar, Al Khuwair, Ruwi and the districts around Sultan Qaboos Street. Al Amerat/East covers the road toward the mountains and Quriyat.
Almost everyone drives or takes a taxi, and the main highway links the three areas. Each ground holds 64 to 128 teams. One venue per ground is announced on this page once its agreement is signed. Distances can be long along the coast, so picking the ground nearest your squad saves a long evening drive after work.
April and May weather, then the Country Championship
April and May in Muscat are hot and humid off the sea. Three April weekends carry the group stage (9th to 11th, 16th to 18th, 23rd to 25th), the playoffs begin on 30 April, and each ground's final comes on 9 May 2027.
Because Muscat is Oman's only host city, its three Pitch Champions each win $20,000 and meet at the Oman Country Championship on 28 to 30 May. Next is the continental stage, and the World Final is on 7 July 2027. Every date is fixed in advance, so squads can arrange leave and travel early.
Oman's one host city
Oman has a single host city, so every Omani team that wants a place in the world bracket enters on one of Muscat's three grounds. Teams from outside the capital can choose whichever of the three is easiest to reach.
Entry is one Team License per team, with a Team President named on it. MCC recruits referees and crew, a zero-tolerance conduct policy applies and only amateur teams may enter. A squad of up to nine means a team with a few members travelling for work can still field five on match day.
