Host a tournament in Cologne
Three Cologne-area venues are wanted, one per ground: Leverkusen/North, East Cologne and South Cologne. Whoever takes a ground stages a 5-a-side event for between 64 and 128 amateur teams through April and May 2027, while MCC provides entries, the format and the prize money. Below is what the job asks and how to put a site forward.
What hosting a Cologne ground involves
The venue gives its pitches to the Cologne ground for three April weekends of group games and then the knockouts, ending with the ground's final on 9 May 2027. Each match takes a 40-minute slot. MCC finds the officials and crew; the venue does not.
Where a Cologne venue fits
Leverkusen/North covers Nippes, Chorweiler and Leverkusen. East Cologne covers Deutz, Kalk and Mülheim. South Cologne covers Sülz, Rodenkirchen and the south bank toward Brühl. Applicants choose the ground their site falls inside. On the Cologne page, the live cards say which grounds have a venue.
Applying to host in Cologne
Applications come through the pitch owner programme. MCC confirms a single venue on each Cologne ground and signs an agreement, and the city page then shows the venue's name. Clubs, commercial centres and school sites use the same form, whatever their size.
Questions from Cologne venues
Can a venue in Leverkusen host the north ground?
Yes. The ground is named Leverkusen/North because it spans both the north of Cologne and Leverkusen. A site on either side of the city boundary can apply, and the choice is made by MCC through the pitch owner programme.
Who supplies the teams and officials for a Cologne ground?
Teams sign up with MCC, not the venue. MCC recruits a referee, two assistants and a fourth official through its join page. A Cologne venue only hosts the matches in their 40-minute slots.
Can a sports hall in Cologne apply?
Any pitch owner can submit the pitch owner application. For each ground MCC settles on one venue, signs an agreement with it, and from then on names it on the Cologne page for teams entering that ground.
