Host a tournament in Antwerp

Each of Antwerp's three MCC grounds, North, East and South, needs a venue of its own. The venue hosts a 5-a-side tournament for 64 to 128 amateur teams, with the Pitch Round running between 9 April and 9 May 2027. MCC supplies the format, the entries and the $20,000 Pitch Champion prize; the venue supplies pitches and hours.

What an Antwerp venue takes on

An Antwerp venue plays host on group weekends in April, then on the playoff dates and the 9 May final. Slots last 40 minutes, so the number of pitches a site can run decides whether its ground holds 64 teams or up to 128.

How the Antwerp grounds divide the city

North Antwerp covers Merksem and the districts toward the port, East Antwerp covers Borgerhout, Deurne and Berchem, and South Antwerp covers Hoboken, Kiel and the Scheldt side. A venue applies for the ground its area belongs to. The cards on the Antwerp page show which have a signed venue.

How to apply

The route in is the pitch owner application. MCC signs one operator per ground and then lists that venue on the Antwerp page, so registering teams know where they will play. Club sites and municipal halls are both welcome to apply.

Questions from Antwerp venues

Can a football club in Antwerp host a ground?

Yes, a club that owns pitches is a pitch owner like any other. After an application, MCC confirms one venue per ground and signs an agreement with it. The Antwerp page then names the venue for the teams choosing that ground.

Who chooses which teams play at an Antwerp venue?

Teams register on this site and choose a ground themselves. The venue does not select entries, and MCC supplies the fixtures, the rules and the prize for the Pitch Champion at the end.

Do referees come from the Antwerp venue?

No. A referee, two assistants, a fourth official and the crew are recruited through the join page. Teams never appoint them, and nobody expects a venue to find them either.
