Alexandria
Alexandria stretches for miles along the Mediterranean, and its football follows the same line, from neighbourhood pitches in Montaza to clubs and courts out toward Borg El Arab. The city keeps its own old rivalries and its own pace. A 5-a-side tournament arrives in 2027 with three Alexandria grounds, and the first whistle goes on 9 April.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Alexandria with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.

Small-sided football along the Corniche
Alexandria is a long, thin city, and most people play close to where they live. Five-a-side games run on hired pitches at sports clubs, school grounds and private courts, usually after work when the sea breeze takes the edge off the day. Futsal is familiar here, and a group of friends with a weekly booking is the typical team.
The city has strong local football loyalties, with Al Ittihad and Smouha both based here. MCC adds a clear format on top: squads of up to nine players, two 15-minute halves, a stop clock and a group of four before the playoffs begin.
East, Central and West Alexandria
The three grounds divide the coastline into thirds. East Alexandria covers Montaza, Miami, Sidi Bishr and the districts toward Abu Qir. Central Alexandria takes in Sidi Gaber, Smouha, Stanley and Raml Station, where the tram and the main roads converge. West Alexandria runs from Agami and Dekheila toward Borg El Arab.
People travel by tram, microbus, taxi and ride-hailing along the coastal road, and a journey from one end to the other is long. Pick the ground nearest the squad, since each ground has a full round and a champion of its own.
April and May by the sea, then the Egypt final
Spring by the sea is mild and breezy next to Cairo. Teams play group matches on the weekends of 9, 16 and 23 April 2027; knockout football takes over at the end of the month, and each ground names its champion on 9 May.
Whoever wins an Alexandria ground is sent to the Egyptian Country Championship, 28 to 30 May, to face the Cairo champions. The country's winner then enters the African continental stage, and the World Final on 7 July 2027 ends the season, with a $5,000,000 top prize.
Local cups and a season with a finish line
Club tournaments, company days and neighbourhood cups are nothing new in Alexandria. MCC offers something else: a published format and a route beyond the city for each ground's winner. Only amateurs can enter. A Team President is named for every squad, one licence covers all its players, and the conduct policy tolerates no serious breach.

How does a team enter MCC in Alexandria?
Register on this site and pick one of Alexandria's three grounds: East Alexandria, Central Alexandria, West Alexandria. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Alexandria?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Alexandria grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Alexandria?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.

Central Alexandria. East covers Montaza and the stretch toward Abu Qir, and West covers Agami and the districts toward Borg El Arab. A team in between can choose whichever it reaches more easily on a weekday.
Can a school or university team enter in Alexandria?
Yes, provided the players are amateurs. Entry is by Team License, covering nine players at most, with a Team President named on the form. There is no requirement to belong to a league.
