Host a tournament in Alexandria
Three venues in Alexandria are needed, one each for the East, Central and West grounds. Hosting means staging matches for up to 128 amateur teams through April and May 2027, with entries, format and prize fund all coming from MCC. Managers of seafront clubs, academies and pitch complexes are the intended readers.
What an Alexandria venue takes on
Three April weekends carry the group games, the knockouts start at the end of that month, and the ground's final falls on 9 May 2027, every match in a 40-minute slot. Each Alexandria ground takes in 64 to 128 teams. The venue hosts the matches on those dates; the format, entries and match officials are MCC's.
Where the three Alexandria grounds sit
East takes in Montaza, Miami, Sidi Bishr and the road to Abu Qir. Sidi Gaber, Smouha, Stanley and Raml Station make up the Central ground. In the west, Agami, Dekheila and the districts toward Borg El Arab share a ground. Choose by your site's location; the cards on the Alexandria page show which grounds are already settled.
How an Alexandria pitch owner applies
Alexandria owners use the pitch owner application. A single venue is chosen for each ground, with an agreement to follow, and teams entering that ground then see the venue's name on the city page. Until one is named, the ground's card on the page shows it as open.
Questions from Alexandria venues
Can a private club in Alexandria host a ground?
Yes. A private club, academy or commercial pitch complex can put its site forward in the pitch owner application. After one venue is chosen for the ground and the agreement is signed, it is named on the Alexandria page.
What if our venue is on the border between two grounds?
Apply for the ground whose area includes your site. MCC confirms one venue per ground, so the live cards on the Alexandria page show whether that ground still has no venue.
Who recruits referees for an Alexandria ground?
MCC does, using the join page to recruit them. Each match gets a referee, two assistants and a fourth official, with crew recruited the same way. Teams and venues have no say in who is appointed.
