Madrid
Madrid grows up on small pitches: school patios, polideportivos and the paid pistas where friends rent an hour of fútbol sala after work. MCC puts a 5-a-side tournament in the city for 2027 with three grounds, Alcobendas/North, Alcala/East and Getafe/South. Each ground crowns a Pitch Champion who wins $20,000 and moves on to the Spanish Country Championship.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Madrid with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.
Alcobendas/North

Alcala/East

Fútbol sala and five-a-side in the capital
In Spain the indoor game is fútbol sala, and Madrid has leagues for it in every barrio, run by councils, companies, universities and neighbourhood clubs. Outdoor kickabouts on hard courts sit beside them. The result is a city with thousands of regular teams of five that rarely get an event to aim at beyond their own division.
MCC offers that event: a 5-a-side tournament with a clear format, groups of four, three group matches and a playoff, and a $20,000 prize for each ground's winner. A team already playing a weekly slot in Chamberí, Vallecas or Moncloa has what it needs to enter.
Three grounds around the capital
The Madrid grounds sit on the commuter corridors rather than in the centre. Alcobendas/North covers San Sebastián de los Reyes, Tres Cantos and the Metro line 10 towns. Alcala/East serves Torrejón, Coslada and the Henares corridor. Getafe/South holds the south, with Leganés, Fuenlabrada and the Metrosur ring around it.
Each ground plays its own round with 64 to 128 teams, so a team picks the corridor it can reach by Metro or Cercanías on a weekday evening. Each ground gets one host venue through the MCC pitch owner programme, and this page names it as soon as the agreement is signed.
Madrid in April and May, then the Spanish road
Madrid in April is bright and still cool in the evening, with highs near 18 to 21 degrees and the occasional spring storm. Warmth arrives by May. Competition opens on 9 April 2027 with group games on three consecutive weekends, moves to playoffs from the 30th and ends with each ground's final on 9 May.
Madrid's three champions then head to the national stage on 28 to 30 May 2027 and meet the Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Bilbao winners there, each one a team that came through its own ground. Beyond it lie the continental rounds and a World Final dated 7 July 2027.
A season, not a Saturday cup
The Madrid area already has local copas, company days and weekend torneos. MCC differs in its shape: fixtures from 9 April to 9 May on a published schedule, penalties for any level playoff tie, a Team President named on every entry and a zero-tolerance conduct policy. Only amateur teams enter, and each ground's champion goes on to the Country Championship.

Questions from Madrid
How does a team enter MCC in Madrid?
Register on this site and pick one of Madrid's three grounds: Alcobendas/North, Alcala/East, Getafe/South. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Madrid?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Madrid grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Madrid?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Madrid team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Spain title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Does a fútbol sala team need to change its game for MCC?
Slightly. The format is 5-a-side with squads of up to nine and two 15-minute halves on a stop clock. The surface depends on the venue confirmed for your ground, which is named on this page once its agreement is signed.
Which Madrid ground suits a team from the centre?
Pick by transport. Alcobendas has Metro line 10 and Cercanías, Alcalá has the Cercanías line along the Henares, and Getafe has Metro and Cercanías from Atocha. A central team should choose the line it already uses.
Can a company team enter as one team from Madrid?
Yes, if it is amateur and has a named Team President. A company league side registers like any other and chooses the Madrid ground that is closest to its players.
What happens after the Madrid ground final?
The Pitch Champion receives $20,000 and enters the Spanish Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, ahead of the continental stage and the World Final on 7 July 2027.
