Host a tournament in Liverpool
Liverpool needs three venues, one each for the Bootle/North, Knowsley/Central and Speke/South grounds. A ground in spring 2027 brings 64 to 128 amateur teams to one site, with MCC providing the format, the fixtures, the entries and the prizes. Owners of artificial pitches in those parts of Merseyside can read here what the role asks.
What a Merseyside venue takes on
The venue's job is to stage the ground's matches on the fixture dates, in 40-minute slots: group matches on three April weekends, playoffs from 30 April and the Liverpool final on 9 May. Matches are two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. A ground holds between 64 and 128 teams.
How the three grounds divide Liverpool
Bootle/North suits sites in Bootle, Crosby, Litherland and Netherton. Knowsley/Central suits Knowsley, Kirkby, Huyton and Prescot. Speke/South suits Speke, Garston, Halewood and Woolton. Live cards on the Liverpool page show what is already confirmed and which grounds remain open to local pitch owners.
How to apply from Liverpool
Pitch owners send in the application for Bootle, Knowsley or Speke. MCC confirms one venue for each ground, signs an agreement with it, and the Liverpool page then names the site and points that ground's entrants to it. Sites in the districts around those three places use the same application.
Questions from Liverpool venues
How many teams will a Liverpool ground draw?
Each ground holds 64 to 128 teams, set by how many enter. Group matches use three April weekends, every match is a 40-minute slot, and the final is on 9 May 2027.
Can a venue just outside the city boundary host a ground?
Yes. The grounds are areas of Merseyside, and Bootle, Knowsley and Speke are named for their position, so a site in Crosby, Prescot or Halewood fits its nearest ground as well as one in the city proper.
Who supplies the teams and officials for a ground?
Teams register on this site. Referees, assistants, fourth officials and crew are taken on through the join page, never by teams or venues. A venue stages the matches in their slots on the fixture dates.
