Host a tournament in Birmingham

Three venues are wanted for Birmingham, one for each of Sutton Coldfield/North, Solihull/East and Longbridge/South. Whichever site takes a ground becomes its home for five weeks of spring 2027, with 64 to 128 amateur teams playing to a format, fixtures and prizes that MCC supplies. Owners of artificial pitches in those districts can see what hosting asks here.

What a Birmingham venue commits to

A venue hosts its ground's matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates. The group stage runs over three April weekends, playoffs follow from 30 April and the Birmingham ground's final is played on 9 May. A ground holds between 64 and 128 teams, depending on how many enter.

Where each Birmingham ground sits

Sutton Coldfield/North is meant for sites in Sutton Coldfield, Erdington, Kingstanding and Great Barr. Solihull/East suits Solihull, Sheldon, Hall Green and Acocks Green. Longbridge/South suits Longbridge, Northfield, Selly Oak and Kings Norton. The live cards on the Birmingham page show which of the three already has a confirmed venue and which remains open to a local operator.

Applying as a Birmingham pitch owner

A pitch owner starts with the online application. MCC confirms one venue for each ground and agrees a contract with it. Once signed, the Birmingham page names the venue and sends entrants there. Owners in Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Longbridge and nearby districts use the same application.

Questions from Birmingham venues

How many teams will a Birmingham ground bring?

Between 64 and 128, depending on entries. The group stage runs over three April weekends in 40-minute match slots, the playoffs start on 30 April and the ground's final is on 9 May 2027.

Can a site in Solihull or Sutton Coldfield apply, not only Birmingham itself?

Yes. The three grounds are named for Sutton Coldfield, Solihull and Longbridge, so sites in those areas fit directly. Sites in nearby districts fit the ground they are closest to.

Who provides the referees and crew?

Teams enter through this site, and the referee, assistants, fourth official and crew are recruited by MCC through the join page. A venue does not appoint officials, and hosting the matches in their slots on the fixture dates is all it takes on.
