Host a tournament in Dublin
Three Dublin grounds, Northside, West Dublin and Southside, each need a venue. With no second Irish host city, a Dublin ground takes in entries from the whole country for 2027. The venue brings pitches and hours; MCC brings the format, the entries, the fixtures and the $20,000 prize for each Pitch Champion.
What a Dublin venue takes on
Hosting means pitch time from 9 April to 9 May 2027: three group weekends, then playoffs from 30 April. Slots are 40 minutes, and a ground holds 64 to 128 teams. The format, entries, fixtures and officials are MCC's to provide, while the venue hosts matches on the fixture dates.
Which parts of Dublin each ground covers
Northside covers Phibsborough, Drumcondra, Coolock and Santry. West Dublin takes in Clondalkin, Lucan, Blanchardstown and Tallaght. Southside spans Rathmines, Ranelagh, Dundrum and Stillorgan. A venue is confirmed for the ground in which its site sits, and teams from those districts register to play there.
How a Dublin pitch owner applies
Owners fill in the pitch owner application, and one venue is picked for each ground. An agreement with MCC is then signed. After signing, the venue is named on the Dublin page, and a ground without a venue is marked open on the live cards.
Questions from Dublin venues
Can a GAA club or school with astro pitches apply to host?
Yes. Any pitch owner can apply, whatever type of organisation runs the site. One venue is confirmed for each ground, and its name then appears on the Dublin city page.
How many entries should a Dublin venue expect?
Each ground holds 64 to 128 teams. As Dublin is the only Irish host city, entries from across the country come to its three grounds. Group matches are played on 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 April in 40-minute slots, and the playoffs start on 30 April.
Who supplies the teams and officials at a Dublin ground?
Teams register through this site. The referee, assistants and fourth official come from MCC's join page, never from the teams. A Dublin venue hosts the matches on the fixture dates.
