What a Gauteng venue commits to
Three April weekends in 2027 go to the group stage, knockouts open at the close of April and the last match is on 9 May. Slots last 40 minutes. A Gauteng ground takes 64 to 128 teams, and the match officials come from MCC.
Which part of Johannesburg each ground covers
Rosebank, Randburg, Fourways and Midrand belong to Sandton/North. Ekurhuleni/East takes Germiston, Boksburg, Benoni and Kempton Park. Soweto/South-West includes Orlando, Diepkloof and their surroundings. Apply for the ground your site falls within, and check the Johannesburg page to see which are still open.
Applying as a Johannesburg pitch owner
Gauteng owners send in the pitch owner application. MCC confirms one venue for the ground and the agreement is signed. The city page then names that venue, so teams nearby know where they will play, and until then the ground's card shows no venue.

Can a school or community sports facility host a ground?
Yes. Schools, clubs and community sports facilities are all eligible to apply. The ground gets one venue, and the name goes up on the Johannesburg page once the agreement has been signed.
What fixture dates would a Soweto or Sandton venue need to cover?
The group stage takes the weekends from 9 April 2027, playoffs start on 30 April and every ground closes on 9 May. The calendar is the same in Sandton/North, Ekurhuleni/East and Soweto/South-West, with 40-minute slots throughout.
Who handles entries and prize money at a Johannesburg ground?
