Host a tournament in Istanbul
MCC needs one venue for each of three Istanbul grounds: European West, European North-Central and the Asian Side. The host takes in a field of 64 to 128 amateur sides between April and May, and MCC handles the format, entries, fixtures and prizes. If you run a halı saha complex in the city, this is what hosting asks of you.
What hosting an Istanbul ground involves
Plan around the calendar: pitch hours on three April weekends, on the knockout dates after 30 April and on the closing day, 9 May. A complex with several pitches can run a big field in a weekend, and 40-minute slots let a smaller site serve a ground nearer 64 teams. MCC brings the teams, the officials and the rules.
Matching a site to a ground
A venue serves the ground whose part of the city it stands in: the western European districts, the middle and northern European districts, or the Asian side. The cards on the Istanbul page show which grounds are already confirmed. Given the bridges and traffic, a venue is best placed where its own neighbourhood teams can reach it after work.
Applying through the pitch owner programme
Pitch owners apply through MCC's programme. One venue per Istanbul ground is confirmed and signs an agreement, and then the Istanbul page lists it for entrants. Until that happens the live cards show which of the three grounds are still open.
Questions from Istanbul venues
Is a rooftop halı saha suitable as a venue?
A rooftop site can apply like any other pitch owner. Hosting means running matches in 40-minute slots on each fixture date for a ground of up to 128 teams, so the site needs its pitch hours free on those days.
Can a venue host more than one Istanbul ground?
Each ground gets one confirmed venue. A site applies for the ground its location serves, and MCC signs a single agreement per ground, so the three Istanbul grounds end with three different venues.
Does the venue handle referees and registration?
No. Teams register through this site, and referees, assistants, fourth officials and crew come through the join page. A venue lends its pitches for the fixture dates and nothing more.
