Ankara
Ankara plays its small-sided football on halı saha pitches in the suburbs, on the edges of campuses and behind apartment blocks, mostly after the working day ends. The MCC Ankara tournament turns that weeknight routine into a 2027 season: three grounds, a Pitch Champion for each, and a route through the Turkish Country Championship toward the World Final on 7 July 2027.
Three grounds, three champions
Two halves of 15 minutes on a stop clock. Every team plays three group matches in a group of four, and the top two go into the playoffs, where a tie level after two halves goes to penalties. Five weeks of football on each ground leave Ankara with three Pitch Champions, and each goes straight to the Country Championship.
North Ankara
64 to 128 teams · $20,000 to its Pitch Champion
West Ankara
64 to 128 teams · $20,000 to its Pitch Champion
South-East Ankara
64 to 128 teams · $20,000 to its Pitch Champion

A civil-service capital that plays after hours
Ankara is the seat of government, home to large universities and a lot of salaried teams, and its football follows that rhythm. Halı saha slots fill from about six in the evening, with ministries, faculties and neighbourhood friend groups all booking the same kind of pitch. Ankaragücü and Gençlerbirliği give the city its own club identities beside the Istanbul giants.
For those teams MCC is a step up in structure. A squad of five to nine, two 15-minute halves on a stop clock, a group of four, three matches, and then playoffs for the two sides that advance from each group.
North, West and South-East Ankara
The grounds divide the capital by direction. North Ankara faces the districts beyond the centre toward Keçiören, West Ankara serves the western belt of Yenimahalle and Etimesgut, and South-East Ankara covers the other side of the centre. Each ground plays its own full round for 64 to 128 teams, so a team can enter the one closest to its district.
The metro, the Ankaray line, suburban rail and a large bus network connect most of these areas, and the city's hills make a car journey slower than the map suggests. Each ground will get a single venue via the MCC pitch owner programme, named on this page after signing.
The Anatolian spring and the national stage
Ankara sits on a high plateau, so April and May are mild with a chance of showers, and evenings can still be cool. Group matches fill the weekends of 9, 16 and 23 April, the playoffs start on 30 April and finals close the round on 9 May.
Ankara's champions then go to the Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027 and meet the winners from Istanbul and Trabzon for the Turkish title. The continental stage follows, and on 7 July 2027 comes the World Final, the last match of the whole competition.
What a season adds to a halı saha night
A halı saha cup in Ankara usually runs a day or a few weeks. MCC spreads a five-week round over the spring, with a published format, penalties for a level playoff tie and $20,000 for each ground's champion. Teams must be amateur and name a Team President, and the conduct rules are strict.

Questions from Ankara
How does a team enter MCC in Ankara?
Register on this site and pick one of Ankara's three grounds: North Ankara, West Ankara, South-East Ankara. One Team License per team: USD 1,200 for one year until 1 March 2027 (then 2,500), or 5,000 for three years. Payment and KYC verification follow the application.
When does the tournament start in Ankara?
The Pitch Round runs 9 April to 9 May 2027 on all three Ankara grounds. The group matches are played on 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25 April, the playoffs from 30 April, and each ground's final on 9 May. Pitch Champions go straight to the Country Championship on 28-30 May 2027.
How many teams can play in Ankara?
Up to 384: each of the three grounds takes up to 128 teams, and each needs a minimum of 64 to run its round. A full ground puts an entry on its waitlist instead of turning it away.
What can a Ankara team win?
$20,000 per Pitch Champion, $150,000 for the Türkiye title, $500,000 continental and $5,000,000 for the World Champion - plus championship rings from Country level up.
Can a workplace or university team enter in Ankara?
Yes. A ministry, a faculty, a company or a group of neighbours can all hold a Team License, so long as the squad is five to nine amateurs and has a named Team President.
Do we need our own pitch to enter?
No. Teams enter for a ground, and the venue confirmed for that ground provides the pitches. The Ankara page names each venue once its agreement is signed, so a team does not need to own or book anything.
When does an Ankara team leave its own ground?
Pitch Round matches are played at the team's own ground. The next stage is the Country Championship on 28 to 30 May 2027, for the Pitch Champions of the Turkish host cities Ankara, Istanbul and Trabzon.
Is there a deadline for the cheaper licence price?
Yes. The one-year Team License costs USD 1,200 until 1 March 2027 and USD 2,500 after that date. A three-year licence is USD 5,000. Each team holds one licence and names a Team President.
