Host a tournament in Washington DC Metro
One venue is wanted in each of Montgomery County, Fairfax County and Prince George's County. It stages a round for up to 128 amateur teams across the Pitch Round, 9 April to 9 May 2027, and MCC provides the format, fixtures and entries. Operators of fields, turf or sports centers in the Washington DC region can use this page to see what a ground involves.
What a Washington DC venue must offer
A ground consumes pitch time: group matches over three April weekends, playoff dates, then the final on 9 May. Each match runs in a 40-minute slot, and each county ground holds 64 to 128 teams. The venue plays host throughout; MCC provides the format, fixtures and entries.
Which county your site belongs to
The grounds are the three counties around the District. Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville and Gaithersburg belong to Montgomery County, Reston, Tysons and Springfield to Fairfax County, and Hyattsville, Bowie and Laurel to Prince George's County. An operator applies for the county its site lies in, and the cards on the Washington DC page show which counties are still open.
Applying for a Washington DC ground
Send in the pitch owner application. MCC picks the one venue for each ground and signs the agreement. Once signed, the Washington DC page names the venue in its county, and live cards there show which counties already have one.
Questions from Washington DC venues
Can a District site host a ground?
The three grounds are Montgomery, Fairfax and Prince George's County, so the venue should sit in one of those counties. District teams choose among them according to where they can travel most easily.
Which dates does a Washington DC venue host?
Three April weekends of group matches starting 9 April 2027, then playoffs from 30 April. The county's final is on 9 May, and every match takes a 40-minute slot. Nothing is scheduled outside those weeks.
What do venues need to supply besides pitches?
Pitches and hours, nothing more. Referees and crew come from the join page rather than from the venue, and teams register on this site. MCC supplies the format and fixtures, so a venue does not appoint anyone.
