Host a tournament in Houston
MCC will confirm three Houston venues, one for each of the North Houston, West Houston and South-East Houston grounds. The venue behind a ground stages a full tournament for 64 to 128 amateur teams between 9 April and 9 May 2027, with the format, entries and prize fund coming from MCC. Soccer complexes, arenas and turf fields across Harris County and its neighbours can apply.
What a Houston venue is asked to do
Four-team groups play over three April weekends, playoffs follow from 30 April and the final is on 9 May. A Houston venue stages each match in a 40-minute slot on those dates. Entries decide how big the job is, since a ground can hold from 64 up to 128 teams. Indoor arenas and outdoor turf both suit the format.
Which area a site belongs to
North Houston suits venues along I-45 and the north loop, including Spring and The Woodlands. West Houston suits sites in Katy, Memorial and the Energy Corridor. South-East Houston suits fields in Pasadena, Pearland, Clear Lake and the Bay Area. Venues apply for the area they sit in, and one is confirmed for each ground.
The pitch owner application
A site is put forward through the MCC pitch owner programme. MCC confirms one venue for each ground and signs an agreement with it, and the Houston page then names that venue for teams registering to the ground, so they know where the Pitch Round is played.
Questions from Houston venue operators
Can an indoor arena apply, or only outdoor turf?
Either can apply as a pitch owner. When MCC confirms one venue for a ground, that venue signs an agreement and hosts its fixtures in 40-minute slots. Indoor courts and outdoor turf are equally workable for the format.
My site is in The Woodlands. Which ground?
The Woodlands fits North Houston. A Woodlands operator applies as a pitch owner for that ground, and MCC confirms one venue per ground. The confirmed venue is named on the Houston page.
Who provides referees and crew for a ground?
MCC does. The join page is where match officials and crew are recruited, and teams have no say in who is appointed. Entries come through the city page. Houston venues host the matches and have no need to find teams or officials.
